Badminton School

challenge

Badminton School, a leading independent educational institution, wished to upgrade their equipment in the swimming pool plantroom. The existing filtration, heating, and chemical dosing systems required updating, due to increased maintenance costs and inconsistent water quality. These systems were struggling to effectively meet the school's priority to efficiently provide the level of water quality and comfort their bathers required. Furthermore, the school required a solution that would not only refurbish and upgrade the systems, but also enhance energy efficiency and reduce long-term operational costs.

solution

Broadwater Technologies Ltd was engaged to provide a comprehensive plantroom refurbishment, addressing the filtration, heating, and chemical dosing systems. The project included the full refurbishment of the 2.4m diameter filter vessel, involving media removal, re-lining, installation of new nozzle system and recharging with Activated Filter Media (AFM) Additionally, the aging calorifier was replaced with an energy-efficient plate heat exchanger, the chemical dosing system was upgraded with the installation of a Wallace & Tiernan DEPOLOX Pool E 700 P controller providing automated chlorine and pH control, as well as the installation of an ATG UV system for improved disinfection and the relocation of the WDT Granudos dosing unit for maximum efficiency. These improvements will deliver long-term benefits in energy savings and water treatment reliability, including exceptional water quality. The project was completed on time and with minimal disruption to the school's daily operations.
