Wales National Pool

challenge

Wales National Pool (WNP) faced technical issues with their existing outdated main pool UV system which was coming to the end of its serviceable life, prompting a need for replacement to maintain high water quality standards. Their primary concerns included minimizing disruption to pool operations, ensuring the new system integrated seamlessly with existing infrastructure, and achieving energy and maintenance cost savings.

solution

Broadwater Technologies engaged with Hanovia to discuss UV upgrade options and it was decided that the highly efficient, single-lamp solution Swimline PH600 would be the best fit; eliminating the need for pipework modifications thus minimizing downtime during the installation. Broadwater decommissioned and removed the old control panel and UV chamber, fitting the new equipment, connecting into the existing pipework, and installing upgraded wiring. The Swimline PH600 offers significant operational benefits, including a 5.8kW energy usage rate leading to an annual saving of over 71,000 kWh, alongside lower maintenance costs. Furthermore, the new system provides superior protection against chloramines and Cryptosporidium, safeguarding both swimmers and facility infrastructure. Installation and commissioning were completed swiftly, with minimal disruption, supported by a five-year manufacturer’s guarantee. Broadwater’s solution not only met WNP’s immediate technical needs but also delivered a return on investment within just over two years, ensuring long-term operational and financial benefits.

I have been really impressed with Broadwater during this process. The advice, recommendations and communications throughout the process has been spot on and I would have no hesitation in recommending your services.
